Professional/Club Ranks
Although Tony’s main athletic commitment is as Captain of the USA National Team, he also plays professionally abroad for approximately nine months each year (there is no professional water polo league in the United States).
Tony signed his first contract with a professional European team (Cremona Bissolati) immediately after graduating from Stanford, and continued to play in Europe for the next eight years. During the 2011- 2012 season, the US Olympic coach asked all the US players if they would consider staying home instead of playing abroad, in order to more effectively train together as a team in preparation for the London Olympics. Tony and his teammates agreed and trained out of Thousand Oaks, CA for the six months leading up to the Games. Tony recently resigned with VK JUG for the 2012- 2013 period, and is currently in Dubrovnik, Croatia competing.
